So... any ghost experience I have ever had occurred at the house or on the grounds of the house in my profile picture. The backstory of the house is that it has been in my family since it's construction in the civil war. It burned down about 10 or so years after construction and was rebuilt. Many of the buildings surrounding it are still there from when first built. The house was part of a plantation in the family with four plantations total, this one being on the smallest. A couple minor battles of the civil war were fought on some of the hills in the area.
I'll post the few ghost experiences I have had here over the next couple of weeks (or whenever I feel like it), and I might provide some of the stories of my relatives that either occurred at this house, or elsewhere.
So, the middle experience (there were three over the past five years. I'll go with the one somewhere around three years ago as I can better explain it... maybe...) Hm... maybe I need to talk about the layout of the inside. The front hallway has a staircase that goes up to the second floor where there is a bathroom and a bedroom, then more stairs to floor 2.5 with five rooms, four of which are now always bedrooms. Anyway...
I was on the landing (between the staircase from floors 1 to 2 and from floors 2 to 2.5) and i was walking to my bedroom after dinner (I took a back staircase to the landing) and I looked down to the front hallway, saw a figure walking, and I stopped and took a second look to see a woman in a white dress carrying a
candlestick (similar to the one in the photo in the link) and walking down the hallway in a white dress. Having seen the entire house, I don't remember ever seeing one of those candlesticks before, but it wasn't
real per se where it was translucent like the woman in the dress. And to rule out one hypothesis, no one was wearing a white dress that day in the house, nor had one with them.
Just figured I'd share that story first.
